My philosophy about teaching is that I believe:
-All students can learn when they are accepted for who and where they are in their educational journey.
-Effective learning requires a collaboration between teacher, students, and parents grounded in mutual respect and trust.
-Learning takes place best in a positive safe environment.
-Technology education is essential for equipping students with the necessary tools to be successful outside of school.
My style of teaching is hands on and in groups. I could get up and lecture all day about how technology affects us everyday. My students would most likely lose interest and not pay attention rather quickly. Instead, I like to talk to them about what their thoughts are on a certain subject. Tell them some facts about it, then let them do it themselves. If the student is able to research it and touch it or feel it they are more likely to remember it. I also like to put them in groups so they can teach each other. This helps both the teacher and the students, the teacher does not have to teach five different ways, and the students get to show each other how much they know about the subject. One of my favorite quotes from Albert Einstein "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."
